The majestic Delicate Arch in Arches National Park is truly breathtaking. I used ancestral Puebloan pottery art from the area for reference to draw the sky mandala. I was trying to capture the essence and history of the area, I am very pleased with the outcome.

The Lotus Flower symbolizes many things: Purity, Fertility and the Cycle of Life, Open-heartedness and Compassion, Transformation and Rebirth, Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment. The lotus flower sprouts in muddy waters. As the bud emerges, the water cleanses it as it blossoms into a beautiful flower above water.

For me this painting symbolizes a rebirth or second chance of sorts. Another try to forge my own path, follow my intuition, and let life happen for me and not to me.

This painting also has many elements that represent me. The Moon, which is the ruler of my sign, with the phases of the moon symbolizing a cycle/rebirth. Water, which is my element, and Earth/nature which I connect to and find peace in. The Torus is a sign of toroidal energy. When a person is in harmony with universal energy, it flows in toroidal fashion.

Remember, just like the lotus, you too can make it through anything!

The black crystals represent Obsidian. Obsidian is a protecting and grounding stone. Obsidian blocks negative energy creating a shield around you. It also aids in making difficult decisions.

The mandala represents a spiritual journey. The mandala can block negative thoughts and bring joy. Aiding in meditation and healing.

This painting has been quite the journey for me and I learned so much along the way. Not only learning new painting techniques but also learning a lot about myself. My biggest most challenging piece to date, a feat of perseverance and transformation.
